I came across a few different ones that you can try. Some are for downloading onto your computer desktop. Others are fetched from a website, and can only be used while connected to the internet.
Meet "Goldie"- She is the first virtual dog that I adopted. You can adopt a dog that looks like her, or an adult golden, to play with and care for online. Just click on my Goldie to check it out.
Here's the Pedigree PC puppy. He downloads to your desktop so that you can play with him even when you're not connected. He quizes you on your puppy caring knowledge every once in awhile. Just click on the picture to check him out.
Here's
another virtual puppy that must be used online. This one has an emergency
escape that when you click on the button, takes you to a programmed website.
This is supposedly to help you look like you are working if someone walks in on
you playing with your pet. This pet is not really animated, it just shows
pictures for each action that you choose to do.
